Following a substantial redesign of Form 1040 for tax year 2018, the IRS has once again changed the design of the main individual income tax form for the 2019 filing season. The new design includes 3 accompanying schedules instead of the six introduced in 2018. Schedules 3 and 5 were combined into Schedule 3 so you can now report credits not reported on the main form. What you see in the TaxAct program is not a mistake – it is the newly designed individual tax return mandated by the IRS.
