Form 1099-B – Import Individual Stock Transactions from Brokerage or Financial Institution
With the stock data import feature, you can import information from certain brokerages and financial institutions. Supported brokerages/institutions and steps vary depending on whether you are working in the online or desktop program.
Online
To access the stock data import feature, follow the steps below.
- Open the return.
- Go to Federal > Investment Income > Connect your Financial Institution.
- Search for your financial institutions in the list.
- If your provider is not listed, we do not currently support the option to upload from that provider.
- Enter the requested information and Continue through the import.
Desktop
To access the stock data import feature, follow the steps below.
- Open the return.
- Go to Federal > Investment Income > Connect your Financial Institution.
- Click Electronic Import.
- Choose your brokerages or financial institutions from the drop list.
- If your provider is not listed, we do not currently support the option to upload from that provider.
- Click Continue.
- Enter the requested information and Continue through the import.
Imported Information
Below is a list of what information and forms you can import from each brokerage or financial institution. “Banking Information” means you can have your tax refund direct deposited into your account if you use that brokerage or financial institution.
Import Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-OID, 1099-R, and Banking Information from:
- TD Ameritrade
- Raymond James
Import Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-OID, and Banking Information from:
- Capital One Investing
- UBS
Import Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and 1099-OID from:
- APEX
Import Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-R, and Banking Information from:
- Betterment
Import Forms 1099-B from:
- Form8949.com
- GainsKeeper
Import Forms 1099-INT from:
- Raymond James Bank
Note. If the brokerage or forms you want to import aren’t listed, that indicates we have not yet been authorized by them to import their transactions. If you would like that ability, please contact them directly and make that request to encourage them to allow that to happen.
Alternative Options
