Vermont – Child Support Payments Form HI-144
Any child support received should be reported on Line h of Vermont Schedule HI‑144 in the column for the household member who received it. It is included in the household income calculation, subject to any applicable adjustments, and contributes to the final Household Income amount reported from the schedule.
To enter or review this information in TaxAct:
TaxAct Online
- From within the TaxAct return click the State tab via the side menu.
- Click Vermont under the State tab to access the Vermont Quick Q&A Topics screen.
- Click Household Income.
- On the page titled Vermont – Wages, Interest, Alimony, enter the appropriate information in the Alimony and support money, and Child support and cash gifts fields.
Desktop
- From within the TaxAct return, navigate to the Q&A tab via the menu bar at the top of the program.
- Navigate to the State tab and click Continue.
- Click Yes to start the State Q&A process.
- On the page titled Vermont – Household Income, click Yes.
- On the page titled Vermont – Wages, Interest, Alimony, enter the appropriate information in the Alimony and support money, and Child support and cash gifts fields.
