Form 2106 – Entering Unreimbursed Employee Expenses in Program
Form 2106, Employee Business Expenses, can be claimed only by Armed Forces reservists, qualified performing artists, fee-basis state or local government officials, and employees with impairment-related work expenses.
To file Form 2106 for Armed Forces reservists, qualified performing artists, fee-basis state or local government officials, follow these steps.

Dashboard
- From within your TaxAct return, click Deductions & Credits.
- On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
- Click the Employment Expenses drop-down.
- Click Add beside Job Expenses for W-2 Income.
- Complete the rest of the interview process.
Classic
- From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
- On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
- Click the Other Adjustments drop-down, then click either:
- National Guard/Reserve member from Form 2106
- Qualified performing Artist or Fee-Basis Government Official from Form 2106.
- Complete the rest of the interview process.
Desktop
- From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
- Click the Other Adjustments drop-down, then click either:
- National Guard/Reserve member from Form 2106
- Qualified performing Artist or Fee-Basis Government Official from Form 2106.
- Complete the rest of the interview process.

- Click the Itemized or Standard Deductions drop-down, then click Impairment-related work expenses of persons with disabilities.
- Complete the rest of the interview process.
