Watermark – “Not for Filing”
“Not for Filing” Watermark on TaxAct Return
A “Not for Filing” watermark will appear on your return if you choose to pay your TaxAct® program fees using your refund. This is because TaxAct does not allow customers to print their final return before the fees are paid.
When Does the Watermark Go Away?
- If your e-filed return is awaiting acceptance, the payment has not yet been processed, so the watermark remains.
- Once your return is accepted, and the payment is fully processed, you can print your return without the watermark.
- If your return is rejected, the program fees are not considered paid, and the watermark will remain.
How to Print a Return Without the Watermark Before Filing
To print a paper return without the watermark before e-filing, you must pay the TaxAct program fees using another method, such as a credit card.
