Export and Download CSV Files from Accounting Software
Export or download a CSV file from QuickBooks, Sage One, Wave, or Xero by following these steps.
Before importing, confirm your account balances.
QuickBooks
- Click Reports.
- From the drop-down, select Trial Balance report.
- Select the period covered by the tax return.
- Click Export.
- Select the radio button in front of a comma separated value (CSV) file.
- Click Export.
- Save the file to your desktop by selecting Save As Desktop, include “Trial Balance” and the year-end date in the file name.
Sage – One (Online)
- Click the Report tab.
- Select trial balance.
- Select date as of 12/31/XXXX.
- Select update report.
- Select export to CSV to export a CSV file (Your report will open in a spreadsheet program).
- Save the file to your desktop by selecting “Save as desktop”, include “Trial Balance” and the year-end date in the file name.
Wave
- Select Reports from the left menu bar.
- Select Trial Balance Report.
- Select the date range for this report, From (Beginning of year) and To (End of year), then click update.
- Select CSV to export to a CSV file. (Your report will now open in a spreadsheet program).
- Save the file to your desktop by selecting “Save as desktop”, include “Trial Balance” and the year-end date in the file name.
Xero
- Click the Advisor tab (which is only visible if your permissions are set as an Advisor. You can change your permission settings by going to Settings > Users).
- Click Export.
- Click TaxAct.
- Select the date “12/31/XXXX(year)”.
- Click Download.
- The file will automatically save to your default download folder.
