How to Handle Suspicious Emails Claiming to Be from TaxAct®
If you receive an email that appears to be from TaxAct but seems suspicious:
Do NOT:
- Click any links within the email
- Reply to the sender
- Open any attachments
How to Identify a Legitimate Email from TaxAct:
We will never ask you to provide, verify, or update personally identifiable or financial information via email—unless you contacted us first.
Legitimate TaxAct emails will always come from an address that includes “TaxAct” after the “@” symbol. Examples include:
reply@TaxAct.comreply@e.TaxAct.comefilenotice@TaxActe-file.com
The body of our emails will always include multiple contact options, such as:
- Phone number
- Mailing address
