Individual Shared Responsibility Provision – Exemption for Certain Noncitizens
The Affordable Care Act individual shared responsibility provision (ISRP) requires you and each member of your family to have basic health insurance coverage (also know as minimum essential coverage), qualify for an exemption, or make an individual shared responsibility payment when you file your federal income tax return.
You may be able to claim an exemption from the ISRP on your tax return if you are a certain noncitizen:
