E-Filing – Charges for Resubmitting
If you re-file a return after it was initially rejected, the TaxAct program may prompt you to enter a credit/debit card number, even if you already paid when you first filed.
You will not be charged again if:
- The primary identification number remains the same (Social Security Number (SSN) for personal tax returns or Employer Identification Number (EIN) for business tax returns).
- You are using the same TaxAct product.
If you need to update the primary SSN or EIN due to an entry error, our billing system will recognize it as a new return, and you will be charged again. In this case, enter your payment information to proceed with filing.
If this results in an additional charge, you can request a refund for the rejected return by visiting our Customer Service and Support page.
