Professional Editions – Check In/Out with Cloud/Online Storage
In TaxAct Professional Enterprise Edition, checking in/out a client return is a multi-user networking feature.
In a multi-user or office network setup, a user may check files in or out of internal document storage or cloud repositories (such as TaxAct’s secure servers or a local server directory) to control concurrent access and editing rights. Checking In/Out a Return
The program locks or registers a return as checked out by a specific preparer so that multiple users on a network or cloud-sharing setup do not accidentally overwrite or edit the same client file at the same time. The program tracks when returns are checked out and what changes are made. To check a return in/out in TaxAct Professional Enterprise Edition:
- From the Client Manager, right click the client return or click the three-dot menu to toggle quick actions.
- Hover over Return to expand the dropdown list and click Check In or Check Out.
