Professional Editions: Client Portals – File Approval Requests (Firm/Preparer)
- In TaxAct Pro, click the Portals tab.
- Alternatively, log in to My Account and click Client Portals.
- Click the Clients tab.
- Locate the client in the list and click once to open their Portal details.
- Tip: You can use the Search bar or click a column header to sort.
- Click the Client Files tab.
- Click To Client, then click Upload File.
- Select and open the file.
- Select Send Email and add a message to the client, if needed.
- Toggle Request Approval and select an approval type from the drop list:
- Proposal
- Draft Return
- Other
- Select a year from the What year is this approval for? drop list.
- Click Upload. The window refreshes to show that the file was uploaded and displays the Needs Approval status.
- Once the taxpayer completes their review, the status updates to Approved or Rejected.
