Starting a New Return
To create a new TaxACT Online account you may use the instructions below. Please note that there is not a way within a current account to start over or create a second return for a second individual within the same account.
- Go to the TaxACT website
- Choose from the Free Federal, Deluxe Federal, or Ultimate Bundle
- Click the Start Free Return or Start Free Now for the product you select
- Enter your registration information and click Start Free Return
You are now ready to start entering your tax return information. You can choose to use the Federal and State Q&A entry or navigate through your return using the Menus or Site Map. You can also search for an interview topic using the Q&A Search.
If you used TaxACT Online last year, you may also choose to import your return information from last year.
