Filing Status – Entering in Program
To select or change your filing status in the TaxAct program, follow the steps below.
Online
Dashboard
- From within your TaxAct return, click About.
- On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
- Click the Edit beside your name.
- Continue with the interview until you reach the Let’s confirm your relationship status screen and make your selection.
Classic
- From within your TaxAct return, click Basic Info.
- On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
- Click Edit beside Marital Status and select the appropriate option.
Alternatively, go to Federal > Basic Information > Filing Status to make your selection.
Desktop
- From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
- Click the Basic Information drop-down, then click Filing Status.
- Make your selection and continue with the rest of the interview process.
