The installation process for TaxAct Professional Editions has been simplified. The TaxAct Professional Installer will download and run the installation for all your products at once. The installer will also let you know which products are not yet available.

You need a TaxAct Professional account to sign in to the program, and you need to purchase your TaxAct Professional Edition products before installing. 

To install your TaxAct Professional Edition products:

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online.
2. Click Orders & Downloads.
3. Expand the applicable Tax Year 20YY section.
4. Click Download next to the name of the specific federal or state program you want to download.
   • Note: You’ll need to download the federal program before you download any state program.
5. Once your download is complete, open the downloaded file.
6. On the screen titled Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Click Yes.
7. Continue with the on-screen steps to complete the installation.

NOTE You can install TaxAct on one additional computer (example: home laptop and office computer) for the purpose of completing your income tax return. The TaxAct program will only work on one computer at a time, and you will only be able to file the returns that you have paid for.
